Moderation
In an ideal world, players would always behave and punitive action would never be necessary. In practice, builders need tools to moderate disruptive characters.
/nochat
Section titled “/nochat”The least restrictive command, /nochat, prevents a character from using the chat channel. They can still use say, yell, tell, gossip, and clan chat. Because chat is enabled for all players by default, this can be a useful first step in limiting harm.
The /mute command prevents a character from using any communication method except sending tells to builders. Use it when a player is spamming or harassing others across multiple channels.
The /ban command prevents a character from entering the world. It does not remove a character who is already present, so it is often used together with /kick.
The /kick command immediately removes a character from the world. Unless they are also banned, they can rejoin, which makes this command useful as a warning.
Escalate to staff
Section titled “Escalate to staff”These commands affect only one player character. A user may have several characters in your world—which is common—or create new ones to continue causing trouble.
If that happens, contact a Written Realms Alpha staff member on Discord. Staff can mute or ban an entire user account and can also apply an IP ban.
